Project overview

The Binghatti Mercedes-Benz Residences is a landmark 65-storey tower in Dubai’s Business Bay, developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz as the world’s first branded residential building by the luxury automaker. Inspired by the design language of the EQS electric vehicle, the building features fluid lines, dynamic lighting, and a futuristic aesthetic rooted in sustainability and precision engineering.

To help realize this vision, Mitrex was engaged to design and deliver a custom Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) façade that aligns with the building’s electrified identity. Through its Design Assist services, Mitrex developed fire-rated BIPV panels in Mercedes-branded finishes, engineered integrated LED lighting for the EQS logo, and ensured compatibility with both unitized and stick-built systems—creating a performance-driven envelope that merges clean energy with iconic design

Our Solar Facades are designed to effortlessly substitute your building's existing facade, transforming it into a dynamic solar energy-harvesting surface. At the heart of each panel lies a sturdy aluminum honeycomb core, coupled with a layer of high-performance solar cells, making every piece an efficient source of renewable energy.

Overtop the energy generating layer is the customizable exterior– a versatile canvas that can recreate any pattern or color. This adaptability allows the fusion of aesthetically pleasing architectural solar facades with the functional benefits of BIPV technology. It’s a harmonious blend of form and function, bringing to life facades that not only captivate the eye but also contribute positively to the environment.
