Overview
At 1 Hamilton Street, Mitrex provided a retrofit solution using our eFacade LITE system—an ideal application for existing buildings seeking aesthetic upgrades alongside energy generation. The 5,500 square-foot solar facade produces up to 67 kW of clean electricity, reducing operational costs and contributing to the building’s long-term sustainability goals.
The design features a dynamic mosaic of black and grey tones, seamlessly integrating with the building’s existing structure. Non-solar areas are finished in stucco, creating a cohesive and modern exterior without disrupting the architectural rhythm. This retrofit demonstrates how even aging facades can be transformed into energy-generating surfaces without compromising design or budget.

Solar Facade
Our Solar Facades are designed to effortlessly substitute your building's existing facade, transforming it into a dynamic solar energy-harvesting surface. At the heart of each panel lies a sturdy aluminum honeycomb core, coupled with a layer of high-performance solar cells, making every piece an efficient source of renewable energy.
Overtop the energy generating layer is the customizable exterior– a versatile canvas that can recreate any pattern or color. This adaptability allows the fusion of aesthetically pleasing architectural solar facades with the functional benefits of BIPV technology. It’s a harmonious blend of form and function, bringing to life facades that not only captivate the eye but also contribute positively to the environment.
