The latest report from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) revealed the new timeline for the actions that need to be taken to prevent breaching 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.2 degrees Fahrenheit) of global warming.Such extreme global warming is a threat to the entire world – leading to such devastating consequences as more extreme heat waves, droughts, and food insecurity. The UN report states that “if the annual CO2 emissions between 2020–2030 stayed, on average, at the same level as 2019, the resulting cumulative emissions would almost exhaust the remaining carbon budget for 1.5°C and deplete more than a third of the remaining carbon budget for 2°C”, which will inevitably lead to a catastrophic climate change.IPCC requires society to take immediate action in the form of a 43% reduction in emissions by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by the year 2050 to prevent a global catastrophe. Surprisingly, global emissions grew by 0.9% last year – another “red flag” that emphasizes the importance of immediate actions to avoid horrifying consequences. While it seems to be a complicated goal to achieve, there is a sustainable solution that makes it achievable.
Mitrex offers a Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) solution which will allow any new and retrofitted building that incorporates this technology, the generation of unlimited and clean energy, achieve their net-zero sustainability goals, gain 40 LEED points and a 30% IRA Credit, and what’s more meaningful – highly contribute to reducing the building generation of carbon emissions since day one of installation.
At Mitrex, we genuinely believe in a sustainable future that can be achieved with Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV)! We work hard to make reducing carbon emissions and achieving net-zero goals attainable for any building in any industry.
With Mitrex Solar Facades technology, BIPV never looked better. Mitrex material can achieve the look of any surface material, pattern, texture, or image desired, including granite, porcelain, brick, wood, or customized graphics, and enhance the facade look of the building with a modern design. Mitrex BIPV helps buildings largely contribute to a global goal without compromising architectural design and pleasing aesthetics.
